Required Education
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Must provide excellent Customer Service in an environment that at times may be volatile.
Remain up-to-date on current versions and have complete working knowledge of the software applications of the Parking system.
Including the ability to navigate & process information
Multiple levels and extract reports as needed both ing the Parking office and on the Parking Handhelds
Working knowledge of multiple Banner applications including:
Housing screens
Accounting screens
Payroll deduction screens
Human Resource screens &
Student screens
Knowledge & ability to assist customers both in person and over the phone with the Extended Web application and Mygate Parking Channel
Work collectively with Police Dispatch to provide excellent Customer Service to meet the parking needs of the University Community 24/7
General knowledge required: Computers & office equipment including: Copier, Fax Machine, Calculator, Scanners & Printers
Ability to read, review communicate & follow parking maps, parking regulations & university policies
Must have research/investigative skills
Must have ability to apply and perform detailed investigative/research skills
Must have ability to work independently with little direct supervision at times
Must be detail oriented

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Education required:
High School diploma or equivalent & must be currently enrolled as a student at MSU and meet all Financial Aid requirements as outlined by the MSU Financial Aid Office
Minimum Specialized Training Required
Minimum Experience Required
Minimum Typing Speed Required

Special Requirements

Must be able to quickly adapt to address changing circumstances, personalities, & events
Ability to muli-task is critical
Ability to maintain integrity of parking citation, permits & all parking financial records, inventory including, all temporary & permanent parking permits
Ability to plan & make decisions as needed quickly and within university guidelines & regulations
Excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to problem solve, research, analyze & investigate situations to determine appropriate methods of solutions.
Detail-oriented and Customer Service knowledge with the ability to follow oral and written directions or details & to interpret and communicate to others information received.
Must have the ability to meet, deal, and calmly communicate in a professional and responsible manner with individuals who may be distressed and unhappy.
Members are supervised by the Afternoon Sergeant/Shift commander
An interest in Law enforcement is not required or necessary
Many former employees have transferred the skills they have learned to other types of non-law enforcement careers
