Position Information

Job Description Summary

Mentors work with students with learning disabilities on a one-to-one basis.
Mentors will cover class content:
Homework review, how to research, paper
editing, study skills, and test preparation; as well as helping with time and task management.
Mentors work with their students and
arrange their own work schedules, so it is
a very flexible position. Typically mentors
work a maximum of 8-10 hours per week.

Required Education
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Mentors should be detail oriented, organized, caring, and outgoing. Mentors should possess excellent written and oral communications skills according to the discipline they will be tutoring.

Preferred Qualifications

Junior status with a 3.0 or higher GPA. I will consider Sophomores. Previous experience as a tutor is preferred, but is not required. All majors are needed and encouraged to apply.

Special Requirements

Students are required to contact two professors to have them email the Project Mentor supervisor a
recommendation.
