Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and master’s level courses across the curriculum including General Psychology and courses in the faculty member’s area of specialization (clinical/counseling faculty may also serve as clinical practicum instructor, supervising adult and child therapy and assessment cases in a community-serving, sliding-fee-scale clinic based in the department); establish an active research program; direct undergraduate research and graduate theses; engage in service activities at the department, college, and university levels. Anticipated start date of August 2018.

Minimum Education Requirements

Ph.D. in Psychology; clinical/counseling candidates must have a Ph.D. in either Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from an APA-approved program and licensure in Kentucky (or eligibility for licensure within one year). The Ph.D. must be completed by time of appointment (ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered).

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements

Candidates must provide evidence of excellence in teaching, the ability to establish an active research program, and the interest and ability to involve undergraduate and master’s level graduate students in their research as well as to direct undergraduate research projects and graduate student theses.

Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with training in clinical, applied, or developmental areas of psychology; for clinical/counseling candidates preference will be given to those with a cognitive-behavioral orientation.
