Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Digital Marketing Manager will have a strong grasp of current strategic communications, marketing and constituent engagement strategies, and be able to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution. This individual will be responsible for institutional campaigns, as well as providing college/program-based marketing support for assigned campus clients. This role also oversees the University’s social media strategy.

• Serves as the project manager and liaison for campus clients ensuring all components of the marketing strategy are implemented and campaign goals/outcomes are evaluated.
• Supervise student interns responsible for digital content creation and manage the editorial process for respective social media platforms.
• Manage the monitoring and engagement of key audiences on all University digital platforms.
• Evaluate digital analytics to better optimize digital marketing campaigns, email marketing campaign, social media campaigns, and display and search advertising campaigns.
• Implement Murray State’s social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the University to ensure its effectiveness.
• Manage social media campaigns and supervise day-to-day activities. Duties may include online advocacy, creating relevant content, promotions. Contests, etc.
• Manage presence and branding in social networking sites across all social media platforms and encourage University’s many audiences to contribute, facilitate conversation and engage with content.
• Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, and analyze, review and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
• Regularly provide feedback insights gained from social media monitoring into the marketing and PR teams, to help them evolve their strategies in a timely fashion.
• Monitor trends in digital marketing tools and applications.

Minimum Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements

• 2 years’ experience managing digital marketing and social media in a professional environment.
• Previous experience supervising student, full-time or part-time staff.
• Broad knowledge of digital marketing and social media which is proven in previous work.
• Superior organization skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including account management skills.
• Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadline-driven marketing initiatives.
• Working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite/Creative Cloud.

Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications

• Master’s degree.
• Previous experience working in a higher education.
